We are hiring for a Research Assistant that will be performing research on plants and how they grow under certain conditions. An ideal candidate will have some experience working with plants. A Bachelors' degree in a relevant science would be preferred, but is not required. This would be a great foot in the door for someone who wants to be involved in plant or horticulture related research! Job Title: Research Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support trials for grass and seed projects. You will collaborate with a team of four biologists who design the trials, assisting them in execution. This role involves both outdoor work and greenhouse assistance. Responsibilities * Prepare plots by tilling, leveling, and raking. * Maintain plots through mowing, fertilizer, weed control, and fungicide application. * Weed and mark plots by spray painting corners. * Assist with plot layout by measuring and stringing plots. * Participate in seeding and planting activities. * Collect data using lightbox and transfer images to a shared drive. * Crop images and take non-subjective data as needed (e.g., NDVI, soil moisture). * Weigh treatments for OH and OR. * Perform greenhouse maintenance, including fertilization, trimming, and pest spraying. * Mix potting media for seeding and planting in the greenhouse and assist with transplanting/propagation. Qualifications * Experience in farming, planting, landscaping, and/or gardening (must be from a working or research environment). * Ideally will have a Bachelors or Associates Degree in a relevant science, but it's not necessarily required. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Marysville, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
