Organization Description PAVE Academy Charter School is a public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY.  PAVE provides a K-8 experience that lays the foundation for a productive and choice-filled life. We build our students brick by brick, equipping them with the academic, social, and emotional skills that they need to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, overcomers and leaders in their communities. PAVE educates 490 Kindergarten – 8th-grade scholars each school year.  Across our student population, 85 percent of our students are eligible for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program (FRLP); 25 percent receive special education services, and 15 percent are English Language Learners (ELL). Opportunity Summary PAVE Red Hook is seeking a certified Special Education teacher to serve as an Elementary School Intervention Specialist (Special Education Teacher Support Services – SETSS) for the 2026–2027 school year. The Intervention Specialist will play a key role in supporting students with IEPs through both in-class and out-of-class services, ensuring they make meaningful academic progress towards proficiency. This educator will collaborate with staff to meet diverse learning needs, deliver high-quality instruction, and maintain compliance with all SETSS mandates outlined in students' IEPs. In addition to providing targeted small-group instruction within inclusive classroom settings, the Intervention Specialist will assist in managing the administrative and regulatory components of the Special Education program. This position reports to the Dean of Student Support Services and the Principal. How You'll Contribute Teach daily instructional lessons with high behavioral and academic expectations to students within caseloadWork closely with PAVE teachers to differentiate curriculum, help create effective accommodations, and modify curriculum when appropriateUtilize data collected through a myriad of sources to drive instruction and interventionEnsure that all work with students with special needs is aligned with the school's academic goals for student achievement as well as the individual needs of the studentCollaborate with the CSE, PAVE teachers and other Intervention Specialists to write IEPs & revise/update existing IEP's annuallyManage paperwork related to caseload (e.g. IEPs, 504s, Child Study Team notes, Records of Accommodations, IEP Progress Reports, etc.)Enforce school-wide systems and procedures both in and out of the general classroom settingContinually communicate with students and families regarding academic and behavior performance and progressMaintain strong, professional relationships with colleagues in an environment 
where listening, critical thought, respectful debate, and compromise is welcomed
