Job Title Specialist - Research/Sponsored Programs Department Research and Sponsored Programs Salary $59,724 - $74,355; commensurate with experience Job Summary/Basic Function Provide direct support to university personnel to find, apply for, and manage external grants and contracts for research and sponsored programs. Identify potential funding opportunities with federal, state, and private funders and disseminate information to the university community. Provide direct support and oversight to applicants during proposal preparation to ensure applications for funding are complete, competitive and in compliance with funder and University requirements. Submit proposals on behalf of the University. Review and approve all financial transactions requested on each assigned award in order to assure allowability, allocability, and reasonableness. Conduct periodic comprehensive desk review/audit of each assigned award to ensure proper and effective administration, including fiscal stewardship and policy compliance, pursuant to funded statement of work, funded budget, award terms & conditions, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the sponsors and the University. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Education Master's Degree with one (1) year of experience (see below) or Bachelor's Degree with four (4) years of progressively responsible experience (see below). Required Related Experience With Master's Degree: one (1) year of experience in grant writing, research administration, development, public relations, customer service/support, or other related field. With Bachelor's Degree: four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, research administration, development, public relations, customer service/support, or other related field. Desirable Related Experience Prior experience in higher education administration preferred. Desirable License/Registration/Certification Certified Research Administrator certification preferred.
