Interested in joining us on our journey? GE Appliances has an immediate need for a DT Technician to support shop floor operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is primarily focused on hands-on technical support for hardware, software, connectivity, data collection systems, and end-user technology, while also partnering with PLC technicians and engineering to help ensure data is available and mapped correctly for DT systems. **Position** DT Technician **Location** USA, Decatur, AL **How You'll Create Possibilities** **Essential Job Responsibilities:** **The responsibility of the DT Technician role can include but not limited to the following:** + Provide hands-on support for Digital Technology (DT) Systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. + Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers, workstations, printers, scanners, peripherals, and other DT-supported hardware. + Set up and configure workstations, ensuring proper network connectivity, software installation, and appropriate system access. + Support hardware, software, and network troubleshooting efforts. + Assist with basic infrastructure work to support DT projects. + Monitor basic system, device, and network performance. + Maintain accurate records of incidents, system changes, configurations, and DT assets. + Support data collection, validation, and reporting activities for production and quality metrics. + Work with PLC technicians, engineering, and DT teams to verify that data is being sent to the correct registers and made available for DT systems. + Assist with basic troubleshooting of PLC devices, communications, and data flow issues. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support DT projects, documentation, user training, and continuous improvement initiatives. + Other duties and projects assigned by Senior Digital Technology staff. **What You'll Bring to Our Team** **Minimum** **Requirements:** ** ** + 1-3 years of experience in IT support, technical troubleshooting, digital technology, manufacturing systems support, or equivalent experience. + Basic understanding of computer hardware, software installation, troubleshooting, and networking fundamentals. + Strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. **Preferred Requirements:** + Associate's degree in information technology, Computer Technology, Electronics Technology, Industrial Technology, or equivalent certification and/or experience preferred. + Experience supporting hardware, software, and network systems in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment preferred. + Exposure to FIS, MES, industrial data collection systems, or PLC/controls environments preferred. + Proficiency with common computer applications such as email, spreadsheets, documentation tools, and asset or project tracking systems. **Additional Job Details:** + Must be able to work other shifts, weekends and overtime to complete work as needed. **Our Culture** Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
