Position Type: Special EducationDate Posted: 2/10/2026Location: Warrensville Heights Elementary School Date Available: 08/03/2026Closing Date: 05/15/2026Warrensville Heights City School DistrictJob DescriptionTITLE: Intervention SpecialistPAY RATE:SALARY: Per the Warrensville Heights City School District's collective bargaining agreement with Warrensville Education Association.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Teaches skills utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activitiesProvide instruction as indicated by individual students' IEP (Individual Education Program)Develop and implement IEP's on an annual basis following federal and state guidelinesDevelop creative/innovative intervention strategies to remediate student's particular behaviorsKnowledge and experience working with students with special needsInstructs pupils in subject matter specific in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school districtAdapts material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupilsAbility to use the ETR/IEP information to prepare and carry out clear, daily lesson plans individualized for each childAdapts the curriculum to provide individual, small group or remedial instruction to meet the needs of the individual pupilEncourages pupils to think independently and to express original ideasEstablishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environmentIdentifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problemsCommunicates with parents and other concerned individuals on pupil progressSupervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working dayAdministers or monitors group testsParticipates in curriculum and other developmental programsMaintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activitiesSeeks to involve parents/corporation/industry and community in education of youth.QUALIFICATIONS:Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist teaching certificateEvidence of exemplary classroom teaching experienceA special commitment to helping urban students to succeed; with an emphasis on urban schools representing a variety of socioeconomic levels, racial and ethnic backgroundsDemonstrated ability to work harmoniously with administrators, teachers, parents and community/corporate groupsAbility to work well as part of an interdisciplinary teamWillingness to spend the additional time needed to effectively meet the challenges, objectives, and purposed of the schoolAPPLICATION PROCESS:Complete online application and upload a resume and any other credentials pertinent to the position.Attachment(s):Teacher.pdf
