JOB TITLE: Mental Health TherapistSTATUS: Full-time, Permanent FLSA: ExemptREPORTS TO: Program ManagerSUPERVISES: N/A WORKING HOURS: The Mental Health Therapist is an exempt position that provides clinical consultation, crisis consultations/intervention, clinical interventions to American Indian adults and/or youth who have unmet social, health, behavioral health needs and may have criminogenic needs. This position has regular business hours but may require work in early mornings, evenings, and weekends.SUMMARY: The Mental Health Therapist is an exempt position that is responsible for providing clinical and crisis consultation, clinical interventions, groups, and is a community-based position. Provides clinical consultation to care coordinators under the program. Assist the leadership with establishing and maintaining licensure and accreditation for behavioral health services / clinic.This position is funded in full or in-part through Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP), Housing and Disability Advocacy Program (HDAP), Bringing Families Home (BFH), Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH), HomeSafe, Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act (NAHSDA). This position requires licensure with the ability to bill out for services; agency is willing to provide clinical supervision for candidates needing their hours for full licensure.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Clinical1. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services.2. Provide direct mental health therapeutic services.3. Provide chemical dependency interventions (within scope of licensure).4. Provide group clinical interventions.5. Provide clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, client advocacy and crisis intervention.6. Provide a comprehensive community-based safety plan with innovative strategies to assist the client in being maintained safely in the least restrictive setting.7. Maintain a confidential client record keeping system in accordance with program and tribal/state regulations and guidelines.8. Coordinate and facilitate mental health services with area schools, medical facilities, social service agencies and other professional agencies.9. Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with all programs involved with providing services to the tribal community and partner agency of Tribal WrapAround.10. Attend intake, supervision, team meeting and other meetings as requested.11. Provide written and verbal information related to the client's behavioral and mental health based on assessment and contact.12. Participate in continuing educational opportunities, which promote personal and professional growth.13. Shall dress in a respectful manner and maintain a respectful demeanor and presentation at all times.14. Collaborates and partners with inter and intra agencies.15. Submits reports on a timely basis.16. Assists in the development and expansion of the Housing Department and tribal programs as directed.17. Meets with leadership, clinical, and consultation for discussions and clarification on various issues as necessary.18. Attends all required meetings and training.19. Performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no direct reports for supervisory responsibilities for this position, but the position does require oversight, guidance, and direction for direct service providers.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).2. Full unrestricted license for mental health. Willing to consider associate candidates who are needing hours to obtain full licensure.3. Co-occurring Therapist that has a Chemical Dependency licensure preferred.4. Honesty, accountability, and transparency with a commitment to social justice.5. Exemplary interpersonal skills: ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff with demonstrated poise, tact, integrity, and professionalism.6.
