EDUCATIONAL SERVICE UNIT #3 JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: HS Substitute TeacherJob Title Code: 2148 Number of Days Worked: on call, as needed Department: Sarpy County Head Start FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Immediate Supervisor: Classroom Teacher/Assistant Coordinator SCHSStaff Supervised: noneEssential Requirements: No history of child abuse or negligence. A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. A current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (or comparable credential) with training or equivalent coursework in early childhood development. Head Start or Early Head Start experience preferred but not required. This position is eligible for VEOA Veteran's Preference. Successfully pass required background checks. Regular and dependable in person attendance is required. Essential Responsibilities: Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook. Ensure compliance with grant requirements, Program Performance Standards, Nebraska Department of Education Rule 11, and Head Start policies and procedures. Follow directions (written and oral) in an efficient manner. Utilize active supervision guidelines to ensure that all necessary and reasonable precautions are taken to protect children and monitor the learning environment for health and safety. Participate in health and nutrition activities to include family style meals. Support the learning environment and assist with various activities in the classroom as directed by the Head Start/Early Head Start staff. Support children in problem solving and resolving conflicts under the supervision and direction of the Head Start/Early Head Start staff. Maintain positive working relationships with SCHS co-workers, specialists and supervisors. Maintain confidentiality regarding co-workers, agency, as well as family and child information. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
