The work we do building families offers purpose, challenge, and personal reward-and we're just getting started.Opportunity OverviewWe have an immediate opening for an Embryologist to join our team at Ovation Fertility in Nashville, Tennessee.Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM OR 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating weekends on Saturday and Sunday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and 2 to 3 holidays per yearThis role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.How You'll ContributeAt US Fertility, collaboration is fundamental to how we work. Whether collaborating with more than 200 highly respected physicians nationwide or partnering with colleagues who are passionate about solving meaningful problems, you'll be surrounded by a team committed to shared success.In this role, the Embryologistwill:Undertake embryology laboratory procedures as directedHave attention to detail with an awareness and understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) treatmentComply with HIPAA privacy regulationsRemain trained in latest technologies including, but not limited to: trophetoderm biopsy, oocyte vitrification, and complex micromanipulation skillsDemonstrate advanced knowledge of reproductive biology including the male and female reproductive systemDemonstrate excellent clinical skills and be able to lead and work in a team environmentBe comfortable with the physical handling of oocytes, embryos and semen including hazardous specimensManage aseptic techniquesBe competent in the correct assessment and grading of oocyte, embryo and sperm morphologyPerform clerical tasks diligently and follow established protocols and laboratory guidelinesPerform meticulous data entry into computer databases and software programsMaintain detailed and accurate patient logs and laboratory reportsCommunicate detailed information to patients, staff and regulatory bodiesDesire to develop and coordinate clinical research projectsDevelop and complete research projects which are publishableProvide support for manuscript preparation and editingProvide support for CAP inspection preparedness and inspectionsDesire to obtain additional competency certification by the American Board of BioanalysisHave clear, professional and timely communication with staff, physicians and patientsParticipate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercisesMaintain technical proficiency in routine laboratory proceduresAssist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to performance of the laboratory and individual technologists and to specific research projectsPerform all procedures required for IVF cycles, including medium and dish preparation, egg retrieval, sperm preparation, fertilization check, embryo evaluation, cryopreservation and thawing, transfer, ICSI and assisted hatching. Experience with trophectoderm biopsy is preferredPerform all andrology services, including preparation of semen samples for artificial inseminations and IVF, cryopreservation of sperm, and complete sperm analysis assessed by World Health Organization (WHO) standardsPerform laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and participates in quality improvement (QI) programs, record keeping and collection of dataParticipate in research on oocytes cryopreservation, oocyte maturation, preimplantation genetic diagnosis and related researchPerform other duties as assigned, and in keeping with company policies, procedures and standards of patient care and initiatives toward continuous improvement at the individual and organizational levelPerform daily embryology (set-up's / egg retrievals / ICSI-IVF / fertilization -embryo development checks / embryo transfers / cryopreservation / testicular Bx preps-Cryo / embryo Bx for PGD) and reportingProcess semen specimens for artificial insemination/IVF-ICSI, hyaluran sperm binding assays and cryopreservationMaintain, organize, scan and file patient results, making sure that all records are complete, including physician signatures, and accurate. Confirm results on the patient ART Summary sheets in EMRPerform and maintain quality control records on all materials associated with the IVF lab and processInsure that all laboratory procedures have properly consented prior to performing themCommunicate directly with physicians regarding daily IVF/ICSI and embryo development outcomesPerform quality assurance and preventative maintenanceQUA Maintain, clean and disinfect of the IVF Lab and its equipment (especially the incubators)Inform and work with nurses to coordinate daily procedure schedulingWork with the Lab supervisor to maintain ART records for SARTOther duties as assignedWhat You'll BringWe're looking for professionals who bring both technical skill and a deep sense of responsibility to the care experience-individuals who thrive in environments where excellence, empathy, and accountability matter.Qualifications and Skills Include:Bachelors Degree in Biology or related field required2+ years of experience, signed off on all embryology lab duties with minimal training requiredArtisan and Matcher experience is a plusAbility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis with other teammatesAbility to work independentlyExceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.Ability to work as part of a teamGood research skillsTech savvyFlexibility and willingness to learn at all timesExcellent multi-tasking abilities, communication and organizational skillsMore important than any single credential, however, is the right person.
