If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Oconee County Clinic, 115 Carter Park Drive, Seneca, SC 29678.As the psychiatrist, under general supervision, you will exercise medical responsibility for a psychiatric section in a comprehensive community mental health center. You will interview, examine, diagnose and treat mental disorders of patients; perform professional duties requiring analysis of broad problems and planning of various interrelated activities within assigned section.Responsibilities for the Psychiatrist: Provide psychiatric services to include psychiatric evaluation and ongoing management of adult as well as child and adolescent patients utilizing the evidence-based treatment modalities and pharmacotherapy as indicated in the Oconee clinic. Provide psychiatric services to include psychiatric evaluation and ongoing management of adult as well as child and adolescent patients utilizing the evidence-based treatment modalities and pharmacotherapy as indicated in the Anderson clinic virtually.Collect, organize, and record data and information in each client's medical records according to quality assurance standards, CARF guidelines, and corporate compliance standards. Consult with and advises other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and non-medical Mental Health Professionals on plans of care and treatment of patients; directs the overall care of the patient. Provides collaborating clinical supervision to assigned nurse practitioners. Provide appropriate psychiatric consultation to courts and other agencies consistent with program priorities. Shall comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in performing their job duties. Minimum and Additional Requirements Licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina. Completion of a four-year (4) residency in psychiatry and a minimum of two (2) years in a psychiatric program. Additional RequirementsAbility to provide clinical oversight to assigned Nurse Practitioners. Ability to bend, stoop, climb, drive from location to location, lift and file. Preferred Qualifications Board certified/Board eligible in general/adult psychiatry strongly preferred. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Additional CommentsPost hire, employees must: Have extensive knowledge of techniques and skills used in examinations, diagnosis and treatment of mentally ill patients, extensive knowledge of principles and practices of psychiatric medicine. Ability to perform highly complex professional psychiatric work as it pertains to patients and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, other professional employees and the general public.Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
