Actalent is Hiring a QC Microbiologist!! Job Description The QC Microbiologist will support microbiological testing and environmental monitoring within a cGMP laboratory. This position is ideal for individuals who can work independently, support investigations, and contribute to lab operations without full subject matter expert responsibility. Responsibilities * Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, and stability samples. * Conduct environmental monitoring of surfaces, air, water, and compressed gases. * Execute media preparation, sample preparation, and aseptic technique. * Maintain GMP documentation and laboratory records. * Support out-of-specification and deviation investigations. * Assist with method suitability and validation activities. * Perform basic organism identification and data interpretation. * Support inventory management, lab upkeep, and audit readiness. Essential Skills * Experience with USP 61/62 main testing. * Proficiency in writing deviations and investigation reports. * Ability to coordinate group testing schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree with relevant experience. * 2-4 years of microbiology experience in a cGMP environment such as pharmaceuticals, supplements, medical devices, or food and beverage. * Strong aseptic technique and microbiology fundamentals. * Familiarity with environmental monitoring programs. * Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently. Work Environment The position is based in a laboratory setting with an 8-hour shift from Monday through Friday, typically starting between 7am and 9am, with a 30-minute lunch break. The team comprises two other microbiologists. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Largo, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
