DescriptionThe MD/DO, Family Medicine Physician treats a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, develops long-term, personal relationships with their patients, produces individualized healthcare programs based on patient historical data and offers continuous support and health management advice. They provide preventative care, including routine checkups, health-risk assessments, immunization and screening tests, and personalized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.RequirementsMust have a valid Virginia license.Must be Board eligible or Board certified in family practice.If Board eligible, must meet certification requirements within three (3) years of completing residency training program or within three (3) years of employment with ESRHS if previously employed.Must adhere to guidelines of given primary care specialty for meeting recertification requirements. Must meet annual primary care specialty continuing education medical education requirements (or those set forth by the AMA).Must maintain current state medical licensure and DEA certification and provide to Human Resources.Maintains certification as Basic Life Support Provider.Provider must maintain updated copies of all their licensures, certification and CME.Ability to work well in a cooperative fashion with diverse groups of health professionals and center staff. Ability to work independently and to make appropriate clinical decisions which reflect professional strength, confidence and integrity.Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Must have basic keyboarding skills and computer knowledge.Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills.Employee must demonstrate an understanding of the intent, and follow standards, guidelines and protocols related to achieving and maintaining certifications by outside agencies.Must demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to Eastern Shore Rural Health and its Mission Statement.
