Job DescriptionPOSITION PURPOSE To provide diagnostic imaging services to patients using various imaging modalities, ensuring accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and optimal patient care. Prioritize patient education, explaining procedures, equipment, and optimal patient care. Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:• Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including, but not limited to X-ray and Fluoroscopy, with C-arm, and OR work.• Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist.• Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.• Ability to operate equipment consistent with manufacturer's recommendations.• Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.• Verifies exam orders, identifies the patient through two means of identification, and provides exam education.• Reviews and documents the patient's medical history, obtains required informed consent, and ensures all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete and available before submitting procedures for Radiologist interpretation.• Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.• May be required to perform other functions within the clinic. Any additional training required will be provided.• Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.• Obtains additional training or certification as required.• Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.• Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.• Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.• Orders, stocks, and maintains supply inventory.• Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS• Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver's license).• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.• Must successfully pass a background check.• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).• Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment. EDUCATION, LICENSURE(S), AND CERTIFICATION(S) Required Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. ARRT registration in Radiology (R). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer) EXPERIENCE Preferred Prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist. Cross-trained into other modalities, including, but not limited to: CT, MRI, DEXA, and Mammography.
