Provides Comprehensive Podiatric Evaluation and TreatmentPerforms detailed podiatric history and examination of the foot, ankle, and related structures.Orders, interprets, and documents appropriate diagnostic testing, including imaging and laboratory studies relevant to podiatric conditions.Develops and implements individualized treatment plans within scope of granted clinical privileges.Performs office-based and hospital-based podiatric procedures as approved through credentialing.Manages acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions, including diabetic foot complications and wound care.Refers patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed scope of privileges.2. Maintains Accurate and Timely DocumentationCompletes all medical records, orders, and dictation in a timely manner in accordance with CMS, hospital, and billing compliance standards.Ensures documentation supports medical necessity and accurate coding (ICD-10, CPT).Participate in chart audits, peer review, and quality improvement activities as requested.Collaborates with coding and clinical staff to support compliant billing and care coordination.3. Patient Education and Care CoordinationEducates patients and families on foot and ankle health, disease prevention, wound care, and postoperative instructions.Coordinates care with primary care providers, specialists, nursing, anesthesia, and surgical services.Provides consultation services within scope of privileges for hospital inpatients when requested.4. Medication ManagementPrescribes medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with Iowa law and hospital policy.Monitors treatment response and adjusts plans as clinically indicated.Complies with DEA regulations and controlled substance prescribing requirements, if applicable.5. Professional Communication and CollaborationCommunicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.Participates in Medical Staff meetings, peer review, and quality initiatives.Maintains professional conduct consistent with hospital standards.6. Patient and Staff SafetyAdheres to infection prevention, OSHA, and safety policies.Promotes a safe clinical environment for patients and staff.7.
