The Certified Surgical Technologist functions as a scrub assistant to the surgeon, ensuring safe, efficient, and sterile operative procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse.The client is is recognized for its world-class clinical expertise, patient-centered care, and commitment to innovation-join the best of the best today!Minimum QualificationsEducation:Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist ProgramLicenses/Certifications:Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart AssociationExperience:2+ years of CV (open heart) experience preferredNew Graduate: Surg Tech I: 1 yearSurg Tech II: 2-4 yearsSurg Tech III: 5+ yearsKey ResponsibilitiesPerform as first scrub in assigned surgical specialty areas.Prepare and verify availability of supplies, instruments, and equipment prior to surgical procedures.Apply principles of aseptic technique and maintain a sterile field.Support case readiness and room turnover to maintain OR efficiency.Provide safe, high-quality care to patients while ensuring compliance with all Memorial Hermann policies and standards.Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.Participate in ongoing professional growth, mandatory education, and skill competency programs.Demonstrate Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences for patients and colleagues.
