Job Description

The Assistive Technology Specialist is responsible for identifying, implementing, and supporting the use of appropriate assistive technologies and related resources to meet students' accessibility needs. This role oversees the peer notetaker process and coordinates the provision of alternative format materials. In addition, the Assistive Technology Specialist collaborates with BSU Testing Services to support efficient proctoring of traditionally accommodated exams and directly manages the proctoring of exams that require non-traditional accommodations. As a member of the Student Accessibility Services team, this position serves as a key agent in promoting equality, empowering advocates, and contributing to an accessible experience for all members of the Bridgewater State University community. Supervision Received: Reports to the Director, Student Accessibility Services. Supervision Exercised: May assist in the oversight and professional development of graduate assistants and student employees. Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with some flexibility within normal business hours. (Some evenings and weekend hours are required) This position is located on campus in Bridgewater, MA. (Eligible for a hybrid schedule in accordance with BSU remote work policy after 90 days) This position is an exempt, APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.
