Experience Must have one (1) years ultrasound technician experience. Patient Rights and Safety Standards HIPAA Ultrasound Imaging Image quality Image framing Identification of landmarks Completeness of imaging protocol Image Interpretation Electronic Health Records ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Patient Care: Scans all ultrasound patients done in the radiology department Paperwork- scans documents into PACS for radiologist to view, uses of VRAD, PACS, Medhost, T-system to verify and acknowledge patients, burns CDs as appropriate Stocks and Orders supplies /Clean the ultrasound machine and exam room Sets up for invasive procedures Reviews prior studies Consults with Radiologist Checks lab work Transports patients Clarifies orders Compliance: Adheres to and promotes the HMC Mission, Vision, Values; policies and procedures, government and regulatory agency standards OTHER DUTIES Performs other duties as required. Helps Coworkers- transport patients as needed, runs cassettes, turns others paperwork in for radiologist, answers phones, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Prolonged periods of standing and walking Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds during a scheduled work shift. Must be able to see with corrective eye wear Must be able to hear clearly with assistance May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases Able to handle emergency and/or crisis situations May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary Transferring, repositioning patients. Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching for patient care functions. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests including random and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
