Locums VAMC Primary Care Physician Location: Houston, Texas 77030Rate: $140-$160/hrContract Length: 1-5 years (long-term contract locum tenens) About the Role: We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Primary Care Physician in Internal Medicine or Family Practice to join our dedicated team caring for Veterans in the Houston area. This is a full-time, on-site long-term locum tenens contract role, providing direct patient care Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The initial contract term is 1-5 years based on performance and continued need. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive primary care services in an outpatient setting. Conduct histories and physicals; diagnose, treat, and manage patients in accordance with VA standards. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and coordinate specialty care as needed. Ensure timely patient flow and compliance with VA wait time and consult completion guidelines. Participate in quality improvement activities as required. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all VA policies and privacy regulations. Minimum Requirements: US Citizen or Green Card holder (per Federal requirements). Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia. Current DEA registration. Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association. Must provide three professional references with email addresses. Must provide city, state, and ZIP code of primary residence to confirm proximity within a 2-hour drive or 90 miles of Houston, TX - or be willing to relocate prior to start.
