Research professors (assistant, associate, and full) are required to hold a Ph.D. or equivalent highest degree and expertise in the relevant discipline. Research professors may involve students in research, including supervision of graduate students and post-doctoral associates. Job Description: The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. The Research Assistant Professor will lead and support independent and collaborative research programs within the laboratory, with a strong emphasis on molecular, cellular, and immunoprevention/immunotherapy studies. This is a non-tenure track position focused on building a competitive research portfolio, securing extramural funding, and managing day-to-day scientific and administrative operations of the research program. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and lead independent and collaborative research projects aligned with the mission of the program/center. * Design, execute, and oversee experiments in molecular biology, cellular biology, and immunology/immunoprevention. * Write and submit grant proposals (NIH, DoD, foundations, industry) as PI or Co-Investigator. * Manage laboratory operations, including budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and equipment maintenance. * Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements (IRB, IACUC, biosafety, CLIA/GLP where applicable). * Supervise and mentor postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, technicians, and trainees. * Analyze and interpret data, prepare manuscripts, and publish in peer-reviewed journals. * Present research findings at scientific meetings and institutional seminars. * Contribute to collaborative, multidisciplinary projects and team-science initiatives. * Assist with progress reports, annual reviews, and sponsor reporting requirements.
