DescriptionA postodoctoral postiion is available for a highly motivated research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Gerta Hoxhaj at Children's Medical Center Research Institute (CRI) at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, USA.The Hoxhaj Laboratory studies fundamental mechanisms of cellular metabolism, with a particulat focus on nucleotide and redox metabolism and their roles in cancer and physiology. More information about the laboratory can be found here: Hoxhaj Lab brings together enthusiastic scientists from diverse backgrounds and fosters a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment. Since its establishment in 2019, the laboratory has published several high-impact studies, including:An atlas of purine metabolism across tissues and tumors, Cell, 2024Mitochondrial NADP(H) as an essential source for proline biosynthesis and redox control, Nature Metabolism, 2021Redefining mitochondrial NADPH function in fatty acid biosynthesis and oxidative metabolism, Nature Cell Biology, 2025Structural discovery of regulatory control modes of NAD kinases, Molecular Cell, 2022; Science Advances, 2025QualificationsCandidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: molecular biology, cancer biology, mouse genetics, metabolism, cell biology, or biochemistry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate scientific independence, creativity, and flexibility, along with a strong record of productivity. Prior experience with mouse models and cancer metabolism is strongly preferred.Application Instructions Information on our postdoctoral training program and benefits can be found in our Postdoc Handbook or at UT Southwestern's Postdoctoral Scholars page.Interested individuals should submit a CV, a short summary of research interest and experience, and a list of three references to: .
