This position is located in the Department of Surgery, at the Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, New York and supports the mission to care for our Veterans with compassion and excellence. The Department of Surgery, Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, New York is recruiting for a Vascular Surgeon. This positions support the Network 2 Mission to care for our Veterans with compassion and excellence and are responsible for providing direct patient care and surgery as well as teaching and resident supervision within the General Surgery Section of the Department of Surgery. Duties and responsibilities are carried out throughout the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Albany, New York. The incumbent follows established guidelines, ethics, and policies and protocols of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Stratton VA Medical Center and the profession and functions as a cooperative and collegial team member with the entire staff. Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Authorized: This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. This encompasses all areas of Vascular Surgery. * Perform surgery and provide pre-op and post-op care as indicated for major and minor procedures, as well as consultation for inpatients and outpatients. * Maintain good judgment as well as excellent diagnostic and therapeutic acumen. * Participates in a shared rotation of night and weekend On-Call coverage.
