Summary: The Senior Director, Behavioral Health provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for behavioral health services across multiple outpatient programs, including state-funded initiatives. This leader provides innovative capabilities to ensure high-quality, seamless, and efficient care delivery across multiple sites in alignment with the Behavioral Health Strategic Plan and organizational priorities. Collaborates with the VP/SVP of Behavioral Health, Children's Health Executive Leadership, program Medical Directors, and UTSW Department of Psychiatry to define, articulate, and deploy a shared vision and strategic goals for Behavioral Health Services. Responsible for the execution of short and long-term strategic goals of Behavioral Health Services. Defines, tracks, and reports key performance measures, including but not limited to growth, experience, quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance. Fosters an environment of learning, professional development, and high engagement for team members. Responsibilities: * Builds behavioral health service area through planning, marketing, and business development activities; creates mechanisms to enhance revenues through system improvements, foundation funding opportunities, and explores/recommends opportunities for new capabilities and operational enhancements designed to improve overall financial performance. * Creates annual budget to maintain and monitor behavioral health financials in alignment with historical and projected volumes and metrics; anticipates new or changing services, equipment, staffing, and/or operating functions. * In coordination with strategy and business development partners and departmental executives, develops strategic plans that reflect current and anticipated new market demands in outpatient care to enhance and develop innovative behavioral health programs, services or operational models. * Develops, consistently measures, and continually monitors key performance indicators that accurately reflect the achievement of tactical plans toward strategic goals. * Builds and sustains a high-performing behavioral health services team across multiple locations by empowering, mentoring, and developing local leaders who provide daily oversight of people management activities, including staffing, clinical care delivery, quality and competency standards, and regulatory compliance. * Develops strong collaborative relationships with leaders throughout the community to increase access to behavioral health services within Children's Health, network affiliates, and community organizations to receive patient referrals and transition to outside services when appropriate. * Identifies and executes strategies to enhance the quality of patient care, service, and experience across all behavioral health settings by overseeing implemented initiatives designed to improve clinical practice and operational processes. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday. You may be required to float occasionally to other Children's Health locations including Dallas, Plano and Clinics. How You'll Be Successful: WORK EXPERIENCE * At least 7 years post-licensure experience leading successful behavioral health programs, including care coordination, utilization management, health and wellness, quality improvement, supported by information technology systems Required * Leadership experience in working with physician-led provider delivery systems, such as medical group practices, physician-hospital organizations, or integrated health systems, third party payers and private vendors of population health management services Required EDUCATION * Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Required LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS * Current license to practice behavioral health independently in the State of Texas (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist) Upon Hire Required A Place Where You Belong We put our people first.
