A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) opportunity is available on a contract basis in Oakland, ME, supporting two students with emotional challenges during bus transportation. This role is designed for a professional skilled in behavior intervention, working directly within a school transportation setting. Responsibilities include: Riding a microbus from Farmington to Rumford and back, ensuring safety and engagement for two student learners. Providing behavioral support and intervention tailored to the students' emotional needs. Monitoring and managing student behavior, including one student secured with a safety harness and vest. Utilizing behavioral strategies to maintain a calm and focused environment during transit. Assisting in engagement activities, including the use of the bus's DVD player. Communicating effectively with transportation staff and school personnel as needed. Key qualifications and desired experience: Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is required. Experience working with students with emotional challenges preferred. Comfort and reliability in supervising students in a moving vehicle. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques. Ability to maintain professionalism and patience in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication and observational skills. Work schedule and location: Approximately 27.5 to 30 hours per week. Daily hours generally from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 12:45 PM to 3:15 PM. Transportation route involves traveling on a microbus between Farmington and Rumford, ME.
