Whether collaborating with more than 200 highly respected physicians nationwide or partnering with colleagues who are passionate about solving meaningful problems, you'll be surrounded by a team committed to shared success.In this role, the Embryologist will:Clinical and Technical StandardsPerform the following aspects of Assisted Reproductive technology (ART) procedures including but not necessarily limited to: oocyte retrieval, sperm preparation for insemination, in-vitro fertilization (IVF), fertilization check, embryo evaluation, selection of embryos for transfer and vitrification, embryo vitrification, embryo thawing, embryo transfer, surgical sperm retrieval and processing, cell to tube transfer of embryo biopsy material, micromanipulation, ICSI, assisted hatching, embryo biopsyPrepare embryo culture dishes and solutions required for ART procedures using sterile tissue culture techniquesPerform embryology and andrology proficiency testing required by CAP-approved agency (ABB, CAP)Assure proper sample collection, delivery and identification, including PGT samples for releasePerform safe handling of specimens by following the safety guidelines for biohazardous, infectious and toxic substances in the IVF laboratoryDocument quality assurance activities including description of unusual incidents, problems, and appropriate corrective actionPerform daily/weekly quality control for procedures and equipment used in the IVF LaboratoryPrepare semen specimens for intrauterine inseminations (IUIs)Perform all aspects of reproductive tissue (sperm, oocyte and embryo) cryopreservation/vitrification including sample identification, inventories, checks of serology screening, freezing and thawing proceduresMaintain laboratory records, reports, quality assurance data and assist in preparation of SART, Artworks, and Cryomodule dataAssist in the preparation of data for clinical meetingsOperate laboratory equipment including laminar flow hoods, microscopes, centrifuges, analytical balance, pH meterSet up, calibrate and clean laboratory equipment and glassware, and assure routine maintenance and repairs are performed and documentedPerform various office functions including photocopying, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, faxing and filing reportsLaboratory Services/OperationsAttend monthly IVF laboratory meetings and periodic staff meetingsAssist in research projects under the IVF Laboratory Director's supervisionAssist in training and assigning work to junior IVF support staffCommunicate with center personnel, medical staff, patients and outside resources to ensure high quality patient careAssist laboratory personnel in performing laboratory services in accordance with Federal, State and local laws and guidelines to ensure laboratory maintains accreditationAssist as required in maintaining laboratory operations in conformity with OSHA and CLIA '88 regulationsMust meet CLIA '88 requirements of education and experience for General Supervisor or Technical SupervisorMust be thoroughly familiar with Laboratory Operations ManualMust demonstrate skills and aptitude appropriate to the positionMust demonstrate an ability to function effectively without direct supervision and to perform laboratory services in accord with the Laboratory Philosophy and Operating StandardsMust demonstrate a good work ethic and commitment to participate in appropriate programs of continuing education and professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge in the laboratory specialtyWhat You'll BringWe're looking for professionals who bring both technical skill and a deep sense of responsibility to the care experience-individuals who thrive in environments where excellence, empathy, and accountability matter.Qualifications and Skills Include:Must be a US CitizenBachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in biology, chemistry or the clinical laboratory/medical technology sciences from an accredited university (must have the ability to supply copies of degrees, transcripts, and references)1 year minimum of Embryology experience requiredAbility to access, input, and retrieve information from a computerKnowledge of office procedures and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.)Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamAbility to communicate accurately and conciselyExcellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement, customer service, and team buildingMore important than any single credential, however, is the right person.
