This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Contact , the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Duties and Functions of the position: * Diagnose and treat a variety of endocrine disorders, including but not limited to diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, and pituitary disorders. * Develop and implement treatment plans, provide follow-up care, and adjust treatments based on patient progress. * Perform and interpret specialized diagnostic tests such as continuous glucose monitoring, thyroid ultrasounds, and fine-needle aspirations of thyroid nodules. * Educate patients and their families about endocrine health, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications to manage chronic conditions. * Provide guidance on dietary changes, medication management, and self-monitoring for conditions such as diabetes. * Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive and coordinated care. * Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered treatment strategies. * Supervise and mentor medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare trainees. * Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advances in the field of endocrinology. * Participate in quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient care and clinical outcomes. * Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with VA policies and regulations. * Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative activities as required. * Other duties as assigned.
