POSITION SUMMARYThe Radiology Film Librarian provides clerical support for the Lead Film Librarian and assists with various departmental responsibilities. This position assists with all clerical and/or file librarian related activities including record maintenance, releasing of protected medical information and/or imaging, reporting of patient results to providers and filing and/or scanning of patient information. This position also supports the Radiologist and Imaging Technologists as needed.This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years file room experience preferred. Computer skills as well as interpersonal abilities and organizational skill required. Medical record experience and medical terminology preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. This position also requires lifting up to 20 pounds.
