Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Responsibilities * The Surgical Tech handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. * He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. * He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Qualifications Job Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Meet at least one of the following: * Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent. * Certified Surgical Tech (CST). * 1+ years of prior operating room experience. * BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
