Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ACLS certification, and strong cardiac skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac drip management.Job Details• Inpatient Cardiac Telemetry unit focused on monitoring and managing cardiac patients,• Patient population includes Congestive Heart Failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac cath cases,• Patient ratio of 1:6-7,• Specialized procedures include sheath pulls, TR Bands, Femstop, cardiac drip titration (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and others),• EMR: Epic (documentation); Pyxis (medication); SBAR (communication),• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (18:45-07:15),• 36 hours per week; 13-26 week contract available,• Every other weekend requirement (approximately 5-6 weekend shifts per contract period),• Floating required as needed with the potential to float every shift,• Self-scheduling per unit needs,Job Requirements• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand,• Current ACLS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred,• BLS required,• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,• Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required,• Demonstrated ability to interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote monitoring,• Experience with Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and sheath removal required,• Skills required: accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care and management, PICC line management, and cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem, Amiodarone),• Charge nurse experience preferred,• Must pass an EKG competency test prior to starting the assignment,• Manager interview required prior to offer finalization,Additional Information• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Local candidates are accepted,• Navy scrubs required; scrubs are not provided,• Unit orientation is 24 hours,• Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and could be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters,• Consolidation to a centralized office may occur mid-contract, with possible reassignment to other units as needed,• No RTO is permitted after booking; call-offs or additional time-off requests on the unit may result in contract cancellation,• RTO maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract,• Holiday coverage expectations follow standard unit scheduling needs
