Description:Description: PPG Industries Inc. Chemicals Research & Development located in Monroeville, is in search of a temporary technician. This is a position in the Photochromic Lens Research Testing group. Primary responsibilities will include: Perform photochromic lens testing using standard and special laboratory equipment and techniques Conduct spectrophotometric measurements Critically look at data to assure quality output results Perform routine and special operations with minimum supervision Analyze and document results using a variety of computer methods Report results to team members, customers, and supervisor, as appropriate Ability to work in a lab environment and to follow safety protocols Education and Experience At least two years of college chemistry or equivalent experience Functional and Technical Skills Strong analytical skills Strong computer skills Detail oriented with excellent safety awareness and work habits Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change Initiative to suggest related work and equipment improvements Ability to work with minimal supervision Willingness to work second shift - 10:30pm to 7am (will be first shift for ~ 2 weeks during initial training) **Pay $15/hr**
