**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** Temporary position for up to 6-months. **POSITION PURPOSE** Identifies, collects, and maintains timely, accurate and complete information about cancers diagnosed and/or treated within the Trinity Health organization. Performs lifetime follow-up on all eligible cases. Provides incidence, treatment and outcome data for quality improvement activities, administrative planning, support programs and research activities. Provides assistance to the Cancer Registry Manager and Coordinator for statistical reports, special studies and research activities. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Abstract pertinent data relating to disease including demographic, primary tumor site, morphology, co-morbidity, extent of disease, all multidisciplinary therapy modalities and follow upofvital status. + Utilize all available tools to document complete andaccuratedatain accordance withcurrent standard setter requirements. + Produce work whichmeetsproductivity and quality standards thatcomply withthe American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer(CoC)accreditationand other relevantACoSaccreditations (e.g.NAPBC, NAPRC), theNational Cancer Data Base(NCDB),andRapidCancerReporting System (RCRS). + Serve as member and/or providecancer programaccreditation committee supportas needed(e.g.CancerCommittee,BreastProgramLeadershipCommittee,etc.). + Support multidisciplinarycancer conference (also known as Tumor Board)as needed. + Utilizea variety of records and systemsensuringthataccurateand complete data is recorded consistent with established policies, procedures,and guidelines. + Interact with andmaintaincommunication with associates, medical staff,committeesandother stakeholdersto ensure smooth operation of department andtimelyreporting of information. **REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE** **Education** (one of three pathways): + Successful completion of coursework for NCRA-accreditedassociate'sdegree in Cancer Registry Management required. _Successful completion of_ _NCRA-accredited_ _practicum preferred._ + Successful completion of anassociate'sdegree or 60 college level credits in any fieldANDsuccessful completion of coursework for NCRA-accredited Certificate in Cancer Registry Managementrequired. _Successful completion of_ _NCRA-accredited_ _practicum preferred._ + Successful completion of anassociate'sdegree or 60 college level credits in any fieldANDtwo semesters of human anatomy and human physiologyrequired. * **Experience** Experience in cancer registry field preferred for applicants who meet requirements for pathways 1 or 2. *Applicants who meet the education requirements for pathway 3 must also have 1,950 hours (equal to one year of full-time) of experience in the cancer registry field. **Certification/Licensure** Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential obtained through an approved program by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA).
