**Director of Nursing (DON) - Full-Time | Direct Hire** + Syracuse, NY 13203 + $250,000 annually + Relocation Assistance + $50,000 Retention Bonus (after 1 year) **Lead Clinical Excellence in a Skilled Nursing Environment** We are seeking an experienced and dynamic **Director of Nursing (DON)** to serve as the clinical leader of a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building a high-performing, engaged clinical team. **Key Responsibilities** **Clinical Leadership** + Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing care and clinical operations + Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and standards + Promote best practices to deliver high-quality resident care **Team Management & Staffing** + Supervise all nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs + Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts + Ensure proper staffing levels and ongoing staff competency development + Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and support + Monitor staff performance and conduct **Survey Readiness & Compliance** + Maintain the facility in a continuous "survey-ready" state + Lead preparation for and response to Department of Health (DOH) and CMS surveys + Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies and procedures **Resident Care & Coordination** + Assess and monitor resident health needs + Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physicians, Rehab, Social Services, and Dietary + Oversee development and execution of individualized care plans, including high-acuity cases (ventilator, dialysis, rehabilitation) **Operational & Quality Oversight** + Manage the nursing department budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment + Respond to and manage clinical incidents within the facility + Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives to enhance outcomes and facility ratings **Qualifications** + Active, unencumbered RN license in New York State + Minimum 5 years of experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing + At least 2 years of nursing leadership experience (DON or ADON preferred) + **3-5 years of experience in a 300+ bed LTC facility required** + Proven ability to lead teams, manage staff performance, and drive engagement + Strong knowledge of DOH and CMS regulations, MDS processes, and reimbursement models **About the Facility** This skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility provides comprehensive post-acute and long-term care services, supported by a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
