As a member of the healthcare team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the OB Technician assists nursing personnel in the delivery of patient care in the Snuggery Suite, taking into account the patient's special or age-related needs. The OB Technician serves as the scrub technician in Cesarean Sections and selected OB/GYN procedures. This position assumes responsibility for a safe environment and appropriate utilization of resources; directs and performs cleaning, maintenance and processing of instruments and equipment; and restocks and prepares rooms within the Unit. The OB Tech also provides rapid response to patient/family needs and requests.In its first 30+ years, the Snuggery was the setting for more than 41,000 births.
