Job Description

Primary Purpose THIS IS A SUBSTITUTE POSITION: Prepare appropriate quantities of quality food to meet menu requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food sanitation, and safety practices. Provide courteous service to students, staff and guests. This information may include, but not limited to, my academic achievement, performance, attendance, disciplinary, employment history and criminal history record information. * I understand that I may be required to submit to a fingerprint background check at my own expense before employment or at anytime during employment. * I can provide legal verification of my legal right to work in the United States of America. * I hereby authorize Rockwall ISD to verify any and all references provided by me and hold the District and any other 3rd party harmless for the information provided. * I certify there are not misrepresentations, omissions or falsifications in the foregoing statements and answers. Charge refers to a formal criminal charge as documented by a primary charging instrument (a complaint, information, or indictment) under the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. * Have you ever been investigated by a licensing authority or had a license, certificate, or permit denied, suspended, revoked, or subject to another sanction in this state or another state for conduct described by TEC 22A.051(a)(2)(A), (B), (C), or (D), which is described above? * Are you now the subject of an inquiry, disciplinary action, review, or investigation, by any public or private school, by a teacher-licensing agency (Texas Education Agency Educator Investigations Division), by any law enforcement agency, or in the court of Texas or any other state in connection with any alleged misconduct? * Have you ever been listed on the Do Not Hire Registry under TEC 22A.151 by the Texas Education Agency. * If you answered yes to any questions in section #9 - #21, please explain and disclose all relevant facts known to you pertaining to the matter, including, if applicable to the action, whether the allegation was determined to be true or false. Qualifications Education/Certification: Ability to understand written and verbal instructions for food preparation and other work in the kitchen. Certified or working toward certification in safety and sanitation, TASN Level I. Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, food production, safety and sanitation rules. Ability to coordinate and produce work in allotted time. Ability to follow directions and plan work. Must be able to attend classes to up-grade skills. Ability to communicate and interact with customers. Experience: None; but Institutional food service experience is helpful. Benefits Substitutes have the opportunity to enroll in the District's Health Insurance through TRS Active-Care at their own expense. Our expectation is for our substitutes to work at least 10 hours per week. More information will be available at the new substitute workshop.
