This position requires a high level of technical expertise to accurately analyze specimens, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The Med Tech will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to deliver timely and precise laboratory results that directly impact patient care decisions. As a PRN role, the position offers flexibility, requiring the ability to adapt quickly to varying workloads and work environments across different shifts. Ultimately, the Med Tech ASCP contributes to the overall quality and efficiency of laboratory services within healthcare facilities across the United States.Minimum Qualifications:Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting performing diagnostic testing.Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience within a healthcare laboratory.Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Responsibilities:Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids using automated and manual techniques.Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results by adhering to quality control and quality assurance protocols.Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to guarantee optimal performance.Document and report test findings promptly to the appropriate medical personnel while maintaining patient confidentiality.Skills:The Med Tech ASCP utilizes their technical skills daily to perform precise laboratory analyses that require attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols. Their knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and quality control ensures that test results are accurate and reliable, which is essential for patient diagnosis.
