The orthopedic department has strong support with 2 local integrated orthopedic surgeons and 1 non-integrated physician with privileges, providing excellent collaboration and patient care coverage.Opportunity:Physician - Orthopaedic SurgeryJob Details:• Emergency department call coverage with ongoing opportunities available• Handle approximately 6 patient encounters per shift with average of 10 orthopedic inpatients• Must be able to perform total hip replacements - this is a critical requirement for ED call• Perform total knee replacements (preferred but not required)• Manage simple fractures and bread-and-butter orthopedic procedures• Required to perform arthroscopy and total joint replacements including hip, knee, and other joints• Conduct joint revision and repair procedures for shoulder, hip, and knee• Call requirements average 9 shifts per month with future coverage of 1-2 weekends monthly• Respond to all calls within 15 minutes and arrive at facility within 30 minutes when needed• Callback ranges from zero to 2-4 hours - do not need to stay in facility entire 24-hour call period• Immediate coverage needed for specific dates: 11/24-11/26 and 12/23-12/28• Board certification or board certification eligible required• ACLS and BLS certifications required• 90-day credentialing timeframeCompensation:Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
