Director of Aftercare & Auxiliary Programs Rudolf Steiner School seeks a full time Director of Aftercare and Auxiliary Programs to begin July 1, 2026. Steiner, an independent, co-ed Nursery to 12th grade school and the first Waldorf School in North America, is located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The school is committed to maintaining a vibrant, inclusive community that reflects the diversity of NYC. Steiner is accredited by New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).The position, which reports to the Executive Director, will manage all aspects of aftercare for Lower School students and will design and manage auxiliary programs. Key Responsibilities:Provide direct care for students (1st - 6th grade) who enroll in aftercare. In alignment with the core principles of Waldorf education, design, enhance and expand auxiliary programs offerings.Hire, train, supervise, and assess all who work in aftercare and other auxiliary programs. Coordinate with the Business Office as it relates to billing, payroll, attendance records, student registration and billing rosters and all other necessary reporting for students and aftercare staff.Follow all state, federal and local guidelines pertaining to each program.Complete all necessary reports in a timely fashion.Prepare schedules for aftercare and auxiliary programs in coordination with the Director of Operations and Area Chairs.Skills and Experience:Familiarity with the practices and basic principles of Waldorf early childhood pedagogyExperience designing and organizing educational programs.Experience supervising staff members, preferably in an educational setting.Clear and timely communicator.Ability to establish connections within and beyond the school community for auxiliary programs.Experience managing relationships with vendors and service providers.Experience teaching children in 1st through 6th grades.Prior experience with Waldorf education preferred.A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in an educational setting is preferred.Compensation:The salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000.
