Optim Orthopedics is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist for the Vidalia, GA location. Monday - Friday, no weekends.JOB TITLE: Radiologic Technologist SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the X-RAY Supervisor EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned). Responsible for proper use of light system to get patientsResponsible for identifying patient and examEnsuring correct exam will be done if questions about what the doctor may want.Safely escort patient to radiology departmentProvide patient confidentialityCreate a patient folder by placing information into the computer prior to starting the examProvide patient radiation protectionPosition patient for each view orderedMake exposure using ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) technical factors and proper collimationUse QA (Quality Assurance) with each view taken to ensure correct identification of body part (L-R), acceptable technical factors and positioningStore each patient's study to the Pacs SystemEnsure charges properly match exams doneReturn patient to the exam roomAssist doctors and staff with Pac's questionsMake copies of film to paper, film or disks for doctors and patientsResponsible for taking scout radiographs for MRI patientsAssist film library with filing outside film in the computerMaintain proper radiation protection for self when holding patientsAssist film library with mailing back outside filmProvide coverage of film library when personnel absentProvide coverage for Saturday and evening hoursAdhere to schedules provided weekly and monthlyAttend seminars and read bimonthly publicationsTake direct readings tests for continuing education to keep certification currentPerforms related work as requiredConnect patient studies in the Pacs System daily
