Description: Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking an Evening School Paraprofessional during Summer of 2026. The Evening School Aide will assist in engaging students in meaningful, rigorous, standards-aligned learning opportunities in our Evening School program. Aides will assist teachers in preparing lesson plans, design and grade formative and summative assessments, and provide in-person student-centered instruction while maintaining attendance records and grades on the district-approved Student Information System (SIS). Summer Aides must have the required endorsements for the courses in which they assist. They must attend professional development prior to the first summer session and commit to both sessions. Courses will be taught in person. Desired Experience or Training: Bachelor's Degree Previous experience as a teacher's aide Summer School Dates: Session 1? Monday,June 8 through Thursday, June 25, 2026 Session 2 Monday,June 29 through Thursday, July 16, 2026 ?Schedule:? ?? Classes meet Monday through Thursday. No class on Fridays.Session goes from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pmTeachers report from 3:45 pm to 7:15 pm ? Position Responsibilities: Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-English speaking students or those with physical and mental disabilitiesTutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachersSupervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums or on field tripsEnforce administration policies and rules governing studentsObserve students' performance and record relevant data to assess progressDiscuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional effortsInstruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damagePresent subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers using lectures, discussions or supervised role-playing methodsOrganize and label materials and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their eye levels and perceptual skillsDistribute tests and homework assignments and collect them when they are completedBe a positive role model for studentsPerform other duties as directed by the Building Principals, and the supervising classroom teacherProviso Township High Schools uses the applicant tracking system from Frontline Education to manage employment applications online.
