A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking experienced per diem pharmacists to provide exceptional medication management and patient consultation for complex chronic conditions. This role is ideal for pharmacists who are skilled in handling intricate medication regimens-often involving 8 to 15 medications per patient-and who demonstrate strong communication and disease-state management abilities. Candidates with specialty retail pharmacy experience are highly preferred. Location: Columbus, OH Schedule: Per diem, as needed Monday through Friday, during regular hours of operation Key Responsibilities: Dispense and manage specialty medications for patients with chronic and advanced diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. Provide thorough, patient-centered consultation focusing on complex medication therapies. Engage patiently and compassionately with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, many of whom have low literacy levels. Utilize Pioneer Rx software to accurately process prescriptions and maintain clinical records. Support the pharmacy's mission by emphasizing quality patient care and consultation over volume. Qualifications: Current pharmacist license for Ohio. Proven retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience. Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 medications commonly found in retail. Excellent communication and consultation skills tailored to complex, chronic patient needs. Experience with Pioneer Rx software preferred.
