Rehabilitation Therapist - Job# 19Waterbury, CTMonday-Friday 1pm-9pm$50,000/ year salaryABOUT THE JOB:The Rehabilitation Therapist is responsible for developing and supervising specialized programs that target individualized treatment goals.  Duties include planning, organizing, developing, maintaining, promoting, operating and managing therapeutic recreation art, music, and movement programming.  Provide supervision and guidance to Youth Mentors with therapeutic recreationDevelop specialized programs that target youth’s specific treatment goalsReinforce and role model youth’s individual treatment planEnsure physical safety of youth and provide Crisis Intervention as neededMaintain a professional relationship with youth maintaining proper physical boundariesPlan and lead organized activities including art, music and movementCoordinate activities with Youth Mentors and assure that they are adhering to scheduled planned activitiesEngage contracted providers and or volunteers to assist with activities as necessaryProvide transportation to clients and families as neededFocus on Client Needs: Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within program parametersAbility to communicate, cooperate and serve people from all cultural identities with respect, professionalism, integrity and fairness in a manner that recognizes the individuality of each personFoster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance program effectiveness.Regular and consistent attendanceSCHEDULE AND RATE OF PAY:Monday-Friday 1:00pm-9:00pm$50,000 salaryMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree and experience in training in therapeutic recreation preferredDemonstrated ability to work with youth experiencing mental or emotional challengesValid driver’s licenseExcellent interpersonal skillsProfessional written and verbal communication skillsFULL-TIME BENEFITS:At CJR, we pride ourselves on creating a compassionate, culturally responsive work environment and offering a comprehensive benefits package that encourages and supports a healthy work/life balance.
