About the Job General Summary of Position Operates magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Archives raw data to obtain the best possible image. * Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. * Develops films in automatic processor and ensures films are of acceptable diagnostic quality and completeness. * Ensures patients are free of objects that may interfere with the procedure. * Enters patient data at start of examination and monitors data acquisition during procedure. * Instructs and demonstrates MRI equipment operation filming and other technical aspects for professional staff and students. * Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed. * Operates control console for each patient's scan including selection of proper imaging techniques; operates various peripheral hardware. * Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. * Schedules MRI examinations when needed to ensure smooth flow and optimal utilization of equipment. * Transfers images from disc or magnetic media to produce transparency. * Transfers positions and instructs patients regarding the procedure to obtain and effect the desired radiographic diagnostic results as specified by the physician. Minimal Qualifications Education * Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by State of Maryland required or * ARRT (MR) required Experience * 1-2 years Related experience in a specialty (i.e. CT scan) required Licenses and Certifications * ARRT Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and license by State of Maryland required or * (MR) ARDMS or ARRT - Magnetic Resonance ARRT (MR) required and * CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and * Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. Knowledge Skills and Abilities * Verbal and written communication skills. * Basic computer skills preferred. This position has a hiring range of USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
