Key Responsibilities: Deliver intensive respiratory care and manage patient transports as prescribed within your licensure scope. Assess patient needs, develop, and recommend individualized treatment plans. Explain procedures, treatments, and equipment to patients and provide comprehensive discharge education. Administer routine and complex physician-prescribed treatments, operating invasive and non-invasive equipment, oxygen, and aerosol devices. Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), oximetry, capnography, and review chest x-rays as needed. Execute 12-Lead EKGs, interpret basic arrhythmias, and conduct pulmonary function tests. Assist in bronchoscopies, tracheostomy care (placement/removal), pleural drainage, chest tube management, and emergency airway procedures. Collect arterial blood samples and analyze ventilation efficiency; manage results reporting and documentation. Adhere to laboratory policies, including specimen handling, use of equipment, and reporting requirements. Respond swiftly with BLS and ACLS interventions, including airway management and CPR. Complete accurate and thorough patient charting and maintain concise communication during shift transitions. Ideal Candidate Qualities: Registered Respiratory Therapist with valid credentials and applicable state license. Demonstrated experience in critical care, rehab, and respiratory therapies. Skilled in patient education, multidisciplinary teamwork, and acute care procedures. Proficient in ventilator management, respiratory diagnostics, and emergency response.
