The Tablet Press Technician is responsible for producing the highest quality and maintaining consistency in final packaged tablet preparations. The tablet press operator accomplishes these tasks through working with Wedgewood's management team and all other staff employees in fulfilling his/her responsibilities and duties.When will you work?The hours for this position are Monday- Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pmWhat you'll do:Weighing out chemicals and ingredients as required by a compounding formula batch ticket.Performing complete and uniform blending of tablet ingredients to ensure a consistent and high-quality preparation.Package all preparations into final containers according to company policies and procedures under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.Learn and adhere to all safety and operating instructions when working with tablet compression, blending/mixing, and packaging equipment.During compounding, packaging, and labeling, all individual bulk preparations will be clearly identified by having either a lot label or formula worksheet attached to the product.All operators will give the highest level of attention to the products they are compounding and remain constantly focused while they are compounding in order to ensure high quality products and maintain a safe working environment for themselves and others.Execute and complete a batch run with in the established reasonable time standardSet up the tablet press for batch run following the established standard operating procedure.Perform a batch tablet run with in established limits of thickness, hardness, and width dimensions of the specified tablet.Perform breakdown and cleanup of tablet press, blending/mixing, and packaging equipmentPerform and adhere to established maintenance schedules on the tablet press, blending/mixing, and packaging counters to minimize equipment downtime.Troubleshoot issues around the tablet press, blending equipment, and packaging counters to minimize equipment downtime.Assist in prioritizing batch schedules to satisfy customer demand and minimize out of stock situationsWhen working in the lab the operator will adhere to all safety guidelines including, but not limited to, lab coats, gloves, protective eye wear, and mask as defined by SOP.Provide regular feedback to supervisor on ways to improve systems and processes for bulk production, quality control and safetyFollow all Wedgewood policies, procedures and SOP'sCompound other dosage forms based on business need and perform other duties as required.Who you are:Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workflow, processes, and plans.Display and accept accountabilityExcellent problem solving, analysis and communication skillsCustomer (internal and external) focusPositive, Respectful, and Professional attitudeUnderstands and reacts with a sense of urgencyWilling to compound other dosage forms as business needs requires.Adaptable and ability to move with change while maintaining a positive attitude.Able to work without restriction with all chemicals used in the compounding process.Ability to work extended hours and weekends on occasion as required by business needsContinuous, concentrated mental and visual effort to plan and perform work.Safety driven.Visual acuity to read computer screens and written materialsAble to lift an occasional 50 Lbs.
