Position Type: Support Staff/ParaprofessionalDate Posted: 10/1/2025Location: Madison Elementary School2025-2026 Full Time Early Childhood Preschool Paraprofessional Position The SAU 13 Early Childhood Preschool Program serves students of Madison, Freedom and Tamworth ages 3-5. Based out of Madison Elementary School, the program focuses on working with students and their families to meet children where they are developmentally in order to foster growth and development of the whole child. The goal of the preschool program is to help young children acquire social, emotional, motor, language, and cognitive skills that form the foundation for success in school and beyond. Qualified applicants should hold Para II Certification and have experience in supporting early childhood programs. Responsibilities:Supporting age-appropriate lesson plans for a play based preschool program Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through various activities Supporting basic math concepts, such as counting, shapes, and patterns Incorporate physical education activities to promote gross motor skills Individualized attention to students as needed Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, and colleagues Patience and a nurturing demeanor to support a positive learning environment Supporting activities that promote learning and development Able to support child development principles and best practices in early childhood education Ability to manage a classroom of young children with varying needs and abilities
