A Direct Hire opportunity is available for a Pharmacist with expertise in controlled substances, located in Columbus, OH. This role is within a rapidly growing closed-door Long Term Care pharmacy specializing in specialty medications. The position offers a consistent schedule with a focus on patient safety and medication management in a controlled environment. Shift: 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday Every other weekend required Key Responsibilities: Manage and evaluate controlled drug (narcotics) orders for appropriate drug selection, dosage, interactions, and administration methods Provide therapeutic recommendations to physicians and facility staff as needed Maintain comprehensive customer databases including medical history and clinical data Investigate and resolve medication-related queries promptly and effectively Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare teams on medication-related issues Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications ensuring accuracy Maintain accurate records of controlled substances for legal compliance and stock control Ensure secure storage and handling of medications Participate in "on-call" duties as required Qualifications and Experience: Valid Ohio Pharmacist license in-hand (mandatory) Proven experience handling controlled substances, particularly narcotics Strong understanding of medication evaluation and therapeutic interventions Ability to maintain regulatory compliance and documentation Effective communication and collaboration skills with healthcare professionals This direct hire position offers the chance to work in a specialized pharmacy setting with an established system framework.
