Together, we strive to enhance the health and well-being of those we serve and to be a trusted partner in their journey to better health.Position Overview:The Patient Safety Officer / Quality Specialist is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting patient safety, organization-wide infection prevention, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance initiatives across the healthcare organization. In addition, co-coordinates the hospital-wide Infection Control Program by implementing the facility's Infection Control Plan. This role promotes a culture of safety, ensures adherence to Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Joint Commission standards, and drives continuous quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes.Specifics:-Position: Patient Safety and Quality Specialist-Department: Quality-Location: Gateway Regional Medical Center 2100 Madison Ave. Granite City, IL 62040-Position Status: Full-time-Work Schedule: Monday- Friday,7am-3:30pmEducation Qualifications:Required: Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field Preferred: Master's degree Certification Qualifications:Required: Active Illinois professional license (RN preferred but not required; may consider other licensed clinical professionalsRequired: Must obtain A-IPC certification within three years of hireExperience Qualifications:Minimum 3-5 years of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, or risk management.Experience with regulatory surveys (Joint Commission, IDPH, CMS).Strong knowledge of performance improvement methodologies.Experience with quality data reporting systemsCompany Benefits:Competitive salary and performance-based incentivesComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
