American Traveler is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I Trauma Center OR position at a large academic teaching hospital, with ortho trauma and microsurgery experience required.Job Details• Large 900+ bed academic teaching hospital with Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designations, Magnet status, and designations as a Chest Pain and Stroke Center,• 32 OR suites plus 1 procedure room, averaging 70-100 cases per day,• Broad surgical case mix including general, transplant, minimally invasive/laparoscopic, robotic (DaVinci XI), GYN, surgical and ortho oncology, orthopedic trauma, neuro spine, neuro brain/skull-based tumors, plastics, deep flap reconstruction, head/neck free flaps, and airways,• 12-hour day shifts, 0625-1900, 36 hours per week,• Weekend rotation is call only; no routine weekend shifts,• Late call required once per week (1900-2300), plus one weekend call shift every 6-8 weeks (0600 Saturday - 0600 Monday) with a 1-hour response time,• No floating required,• EMR: Epic (experience noted),• Uses Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing,Job Requirements• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center; Level III or below experience will not be accepted,• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required; CST preferred but not required,• Demonstrated experience with ortho trauma (required),• Experience with head/neck free flaps and plastics reconstruction required,• Microsurgery experience required,• Experience across the full range of case types listed above,• BLS certification required,• Active license required if applicable,• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration,• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN,• First-time travelers will not be considered,• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility,Additional Information• Supported by a Clinical Supervisor, Charge RN, OR Assistants, and an Anesthesia/CRNA team in a collaborative, team-oriented environment,• Facility-provided scrubs with extended sizing available; free parking on site,• Orientation includes new employee orientation (NEO) followed by unit-based orientation for the remainder of the first week,• Schedule is managed by supervisors; block scheduling is an option with manager approval,• RTO requests must be approved by the manager,• 50% of holidays during the contract period are expected to be covered,• Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
