The Kids Club Aide will work closely with fellow aides and the Kids Club Coordinator to implement activities that promote social, emotional, and academic growth, all while integrating Christian-based principles as outlined in the Valley Christian Schools Statement of Faith. This is a part-time after-school position. The expected work hours are 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.Role and Responsibilities:Demonstrate a passion for ministering to students through encouragement and exampleExercise open and respectful communication with fellow aides, supervisors, and other school staffAssist in managing student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelinesAdhere to and honor Valley Christians' standards, policies, procedures as outlined in the Employee HandbookAssist with check-in and check-out processes for after school attendeesSupervise students on the playground and maintain a visual on all studentsImplement playground rulesPlan and execute crafts, games, and activity centers for attendeesAssist with set up and breakdown of crafts, games, and centersWipe down tables and countersSecure doors and play areasMaintain professional communication with fellow VCS staff, students, and parentsHelp students with homework when neededRequirementsQualifications and Skills:Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony to othersAgree to uphold Valley Christian's Mission & Beliefs which can be found at Faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with our school's Mission & Beliefs.Ability to communicate effectively both written and verballyAbility to multi-task with organizationAbility to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditionsAble to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets for tracking student attendanceBe flexible to stay late if a parent arrives lateAbility to communicate with parents when students misbehave during Kids ClubAble to create a weekly schedule for Kids Club attendeesCurrent CPR and First Aide certifications preferredMust comply with background check procedures at time of hiringPhysical Requirements:Use a computer (visual and keyboarding) for long periods of timeAble to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 50% of the timeOccasionally lift up to 25 poundsAt times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing stairs (2-story)Use of hands, fingers, arms to reach, grip and maneuver objectsMust be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms)Work in noisy and crowded school environmentAble to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings when neededFrequent walking throughout the campusWork around small children including sitting, standing, running and climbing stairsMust be able to lift and carry small children up to 40 pounds in case of emergencyBackground Check Statement:VCS conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check, verification of work history, academic credentials, licenses, and certifications.About Valley Christian Schools:Valley Christian Schools offers students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade big school opportunities in a small school environment.
