A specialty pharmacy management group is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the opening and ongoing operations of a new specialty pharmacy located in Shreveport, LA. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to play a critical leadership role from the ground up, managing build-out, regulatory compliance, and pharmacy services tailored to specialty medication patients. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the designated PIC, ensuring compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA standards, and accreditation requirements Manage all aspects of pharmacy operations including accurate dispensing, patient safety, clinical protocol adherence, and staff supervision Lead onboarding for insurance contracts and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, preparing for and responding to audits Collaborate closely with specialty care clinics, providers, and patient care teams to optimize medication outcomes, including handling prior authorizations and insurance appeals Oversee inventory management, including procurement, temperature-sensitive drugs, and recalls Support strategic planning efforts to expand pharmacy services and enhance patient care delivery Train and mentor pharmacists, technicians, and support staff while fostering a collaborative work environment Qualifications / Desired Experience: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree with active, unrestricted LA pharmacist license eligible for PIC role Proven experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager in an outpatient or retail specialty pharmacy setting (inpatient experience not accepted) Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations, medication therapy, and benefit investigations Proficient with pharmacy software systems such as QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, or specialty systems (Therigy, Asembia1) and optionally EMRs (EPIC, Cerner) Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and regulatory agencies, including composing appeals and documentation Demonstrated leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and patient-centered care Location: Onsite position in Shreveport, Louisiana Schedule/Hours: Monday through Friday, exact times to be determined Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $135,000 - $150,000 annually Performance-based bonus Equity stake in the business Unlimited paid time off This is a unique opportunity for a pharmacist with specialty retail experience to lead a new pharmacy's launch and growth.
