**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR** **BOISE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER** **SUMMARY:** This position will focus on maternal mental health including pregnancy-related and post-partum depression and anxiety. The primary responsibility will be to provide individual counseling with time spent on collaboration, intervention and consultation with providers and some facilitation of support groups for those experiencing post-partum depression or anxiety. **HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT:** You will have the opportunity to work in a close-knit and supportive team with a multi-D team to include sub-specialty clinicians in the Saint Alphonsus Family Center. The position will be 4 1/2 days a week. The start time of the day is flexible. **REQUIREMENTS:** + Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required in the state where practicing. + One-year post-license experience in related mental health setting preferred. + Experience working with the perinatal population preferred. **WHAT YOU WILL DO:** + Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions. + Complete bio-psycho-social and environmental assessments on identified and/or referred patients + Provide interventions for patients and families/caregivers, as appropriate. Interventions may include counseling, supportive therapy, alcohol/drug assessment and referral, referral to internal and external community resources, crisis intervention and grief counseling + Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet the emotional, mental, environmental, bio-psycho-social and spiritual needs of patients and/or their family caregivers. + Within a therapeutic relationship, conduct and document a comprehensive diagnostic assessment; develop and implement a collaborative treatment plan, and maintain documentation of services provided + Interventions may include, but are not limited to, individual or family counseling, referral to internal and external community resources, crisis intervention, grief counseling, supportive therapy, substance use referral, support groups. + May assist with coordination of transfer of care to inpatient mental health and/or substance abuse facilities + Participate in department staff meetings and department sub-teams + Adhere to the National association of Social Work (NASW) or American Counseling Association (ACA) code of ethics and the State Licensure Board of ethics + Possesses critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision + Able to maintain self-regulation and provide thoughtful interventions amidst crises + Strong communication skills written, verbal and presentation **WHY YOU WILL LOVE WORKING AT SAINT AL'S:** + Competitive compensation and full benefits package + Opportunities for advancement within Saint Alphonsus and Trinity Health + A mission-driven culture that values integrity, teamwork, and innovation Colleagues of Saint Alphonsus Health System enjoy competitive compensation with a full benefits package and opportunity for growth throughout SAHS and Trinity Health.
