American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT CT certification for an afternoon/midnight shift position at a large health system in Detroit, MI.Job Details• Hospital-based Radiology/CT department,• Adult patient population requiring CT scans and potentially general diagnostic radiology examinations,• Procedures include standard CT imaging, IV contrast administration with power injectors, and assistance with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies,• Uses PACS and RIS systems,• 5x8-hour shifts per week, 40 hours per week,• Afternoon and midnight shifts available - specifics to be discussed during interview,• May float to a nearby sister hospital,Job Requirements• Minimum of 2 years of CT technologist experience required,• Active Michigan state license required if applicable,• Current ARRT registration with advanced CT certification required,• BLS certification from AHA required,• High school diploma or GED required; must maintain required continuing medical education hours,• Ability to lift and/or move equipment and/or patients in excess of 10 lbs,• Previous general radiography experience required,• Proficiency with CT equipment operation, PACS, and RIS required,• 2 professional references required for consideration,Additional Information• Responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, reviewing clinical requisitions, setting up equipment, performing CT scans, and administering IV contrast media while monitoring for reactions,• Performs radiation protection measures using ALARA techniques including patient shielding and appropriate equipment settings,• Ensures accurate image delivery and quality control within PACS, including resolving image exceptions and confirming image/series counts,• Completes all study documentation in the RIS to support clinical and billing functions,• Assists radiologists in complex sterile diagnostic procedures,• Online orientation modules must be completed with a passing score prior to the start date, typically completed onsite one week before the assignment begins,• COVID vaccination is mandatory for this facility,• RTO requests should be submitted upfront; any requests made after an offer is extended will need to be discussed with management once the assignment begins,• No blocked scheduling
